Planning Board approves restaurant at former bank

NJ BRIDGETON — Bridgeton Planning Board approves restaurant and tree project. The board unanimously approved a site plan waiver for Sazon Premium, a fast-casual restaurant by Jennifer Ballinas and Marisol Perez at the former Bank of America building at 59-61 E. Commerce Street, with 86 seats and hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Monday through Sunday. The board also endorsed the American Littoral Society proposal to plant 74 sidewalk trees along South Avenue paired with stormwater improvements, backed by up to $5 million in grant funding through the NJDEP Natural Clients Solution Grant and the Natural Fish and Wildlife Foundation Planning Grant. Two prior applications also won final approval: a minor subdivision by Ervin Vazquez and a major site plan by Grotech Farms LLC.
