Council introduces cannabis ordinance for Commerce Street site

NJ BRIDGETON — Bridgeton advances cannabis ordinance to allow cultivation and retail operations on Commerce Street. The City Council voted unanimously to introduce an ordinance allowing Stray Moose, LLC to pursue cultivation, manufacturing, and retail operations at 531 E. Commerce Street, where owner Kevin Rant projects approximately 10 jobs per license type with 50 percent local hiring and salaries between $75,000 and $80,000 for management positions.
Retail operations are estimated within a year; cultivation within 12 to 16 months pending state approval. The Council also introduced the 2026 Municipal Budget of $32.8 million in general appropriations.
